Everyone ran inside. You're still out there.

Dead Pace is a zombie audio drama that plays in your earphones while you run. Rae is watching you on the city cameras. Your pace, your weather and your route are part of the story.

Episode 1 · Blue Dot

Earphones in. Press play.

This is how every season starts: the alert, then a call from a stranger who can see you on the city's emergency map.

Incoming callPort Calder Traffic Control

1 min 45. Best with earphones.

RaeEvery phone in the city that's sharing its location has a little grey dot. When that alert went out, I watched the whole map move. Thousands of dots, pouring into buildings.

Except one.

How it works

Your run is the story

Start a run, and an audio drama plays around you while you move. Your music keeps going underneath.

  1. Pick a time or a distance

20 minutes or an hour. The episode fits the run.

  2. Run, walk, listen

Rae talks you through the streets. Your music ducks when she speaks and comes back after.

  3. Bring supplies home

Every kilometre turns into supplies for the survivors' camp.

Season one · The Alert

Port Calder, the night the doors closed

Who sent the warning? Who knew before it went out? And why do the company boats keep running dark across the bay?

Walt, on the radioForty years on that water. You call your moves in. They didn't.
  • 01

    Your pace is the plot

Story runs always go your way. Switch on Challenge, and a chase means you really have to speed up.

  • 02

    Your weather is in it

Rain on your run means rain in Port Calder. Run at night, and the city sounds like night.

  • 03

    Your music keeps playing

No more silence between scenes. Spotify, YouTube Music or your own files, all fine.

  • 04

Your phone stays in your pocket

GPS, pace and splits with the screen off. 39 episodes, one a week, plus side missions.

Map and heart rate

See where the story happened

Your route draws itself in as you run, with every story moment pinned on it. Wear a heart rate strap or watch and see your pulse and zone live.

Heart rate never leaves your phone. Share a run as GPX whenever you like.
Before the run

A coach who knows where you're headed

Tell the camp's medic what you're training for. She builds the plan, tells you before every run what today is for, and talks you through it between the story's scenes.

Questions

Do I need to be fast?
No. Story runs fit any pace, walking included. Only challenge runs push you, and you choose those.
Does it tell me where to run?
Never. Rae may tell Blue to turn or hide, but that's the story. You choose your route and follow the traffic rules around you.
Is it scary?
It's a zombie story in your ears: infected people, close calls and chases through the dark. Tense, yes, but no gore and no extreme horror.
Does it work without signing in?
Yes, for the first episode. Sign in with Google or email to keep going, back up your progress and use more than one device.
What happens to my data?
No third-party analytics or crash-reporting SDKs. The app sends anonymous usage numbers (no locations, no routes, no names); switch them off in Settings. Heart rate never leaves your phone. Export or delete everything in Settings. Details in the privacy notice.
iPhone?
Android first. iOS comes later.
